It's so majestic, it's impossible not to notice the edifice. Even streets away, it's easily recognizable. With its 25 floors, 725 dwellings and its large clocks encrusted at the top of the building, the Manoir Laval has what it takes to be noticed.
Built on the Boulevard de l'Avenir in Laval in 2009 by Les Residences Soleil, the "giant" dominates the neighborhood, even though there are important structures around it: the brand new Place Bell amphitheater, the Galeries Laval and College Montmorency all within walking distance. It is also on the football and soccer fields of the College Montmorency that the residents lodging on the south face of the Manoir have mainly the view.
Pious Community
Unlike the first residences of the Groupe Savoie, Manoir Laval offers its 1000 residents a wide range of activities, the main ones being mini-golf, virtual golf, two bowling alleys, six billiard tables, one indoor pool, a fitness room, shuffleboards, a library with many books, an internet lounge and a charming chapel, which is not always sufficient for the demand. So, to satisfy its very pious community, the residence transferred the Saturday night religious services to the dining room. The room can welcome overs 600 people and despite this, at the time of these celebrations, it's almost always full!
The movie theater is also a popular spot for residents. With its 170 chairs, its sloping floor and its giant screen, it has nothing to envy the commercial rooms.
