This past June 5th marked the date of the annual golf tournament organized by Ms. Suzanne Dansereau, Mayor of Contrec\u0153ur, and held at the Les Dunes golf club in Sorel-Tracy. Mr. Eddy Savoie<\/a>, owner and founder of R\u00e9sidences Soleil, will be the event\u2019s honorary president for a ninth consecutive year.<\/p>\n

Each year, over a hundred golfers take part in the tournament, the profits of which are remitted to the Fonds pour la jeunesse, a fund in support of youth created by the City of Contrec\u0153ur. The day is always a resounding success, thanks to the event\u2019s numerous sponsors and the participation of various businesses and elected officials from surrounding municipalities.<\/p>\n

Last year, the tournament raised a total of $27,735, an amount that was bumped up to $30,000 by a generous donation from Eddy Savoie. In addition to offering gifts to all of the players who took part in the tournament, Mr. Savoie, as he did for each of the prior tournaments, offered prizes that were drawn during the course of the evening.<\/p>\n

This year, 94 golfers were on the links, despite it being a rainy day. The tournament raised a total of $22,607, to which Mr. Eddy Savoie generously added the missing amount to bring the total up to $25,000. The sums gathered are shared with Contrec\u0153ur youth organizations and the COOP Solidarit\u00e9-Sant\u00e9 health and solidarity association.<\/p>\n
