For a second consecutive year, several\u00a0R\u00e9sidences\u00a0Soleil\u00a0located\u00a0in the\u00a0Greater Montr\u00e9al\u00a0area\u00a0took part in the socially driven workshop\u00a0La cuisine du c\u0153ur n\u2019a pas d\u2019\u00e2ge!<\/a>\u00a0from\u00a0La\u00a0Tabl\u00e9e\u00a0des Chefs<\/strong>.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

\n

The concept is simple:<\/strong> prepare a nutritious soup using unsold food items, to be distributed to elementary school students experiencing food insecurity. The workshop also offers participants aged 55 and over a meaningful opportunity to gather around the kitchen island.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

\n

Overall:<\/strong> <\/strong>1,421 servings of Solidarity Soup (nearly 300 liters)
were delivered to the participating local schools.
A human action, a concrete gesture, a social impact
<\/strong>that nourishes the hearts as much as little tummies!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

A growing commitment<\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Launched in 2025 with the participation of Manoir Brossard and Manoir Sainte-Julie, the initiative expanded this year to\u00a0five\u00a0R\u00e9sidences\u00a0Soleil<\/strong><\/a>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A heartwarming and delicious experience<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Once the instructions were given, the participants,\u00a0divided into teams of 3 to 5 people,\u00a0began preparing the\u00a0Solidarity Soup<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0whose recipes are designed to meet the nutritional needs of people of all ages,\u00a0from youngsters to seniors.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to the joy of cooking for a\u00a0good cause, these workshops fostered connections, conversations, the sharing of tips, and the learning of new techniques.\u00a0A thoroughly enjoyable experience!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

To wrap up the activity, participants also got to taste the fruits of their labor, along with some side dishes provided by the organization. It was a delicious moment of\u00a0sharing during which the Chef took the opportunity to discuss nutritional needs and the importance of healthy eating.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Solidarity Soups<\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Launched in 2022, the Solidarity Soups program helps repurpose unsold food while providing simple, free food\u00a0assistance\u00a0to schools. Funded by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Food, it offers a concrete and healthy solution to support children in need and reduce food waste.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

More than just a one-off cooking workshop, this wonderful and delicious culinary adventure served as a powerful demonstration of intergenerational solidarity for our generous resident volunteers,\u00a0allowing them to feel useful through an activity they love.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
