Rays of sunshine for La Maison Aube-Lumière: an initiative from Les Résidences Soleil Manoir du Musée

For more than 20 years, Les Résidences Soleil has been involved with Sherbrooke La Maison Aube-Lumière through concrete gestures of solidarity. At the beginning of this year, a spark of humanity once again ignited at Les Résidences Soleil Manoir du Musée, driven by the initiative of its management and supported with fervor, passion and drive by numerous residents. Together, they gave life to a project brimming with warmth.

The project, poetically dubbed “Laying down the sun, before dawn and light”, came to life in a great collective gesture, a tender gesture towards those who need it most.

More than 200 heart-warming treats

Our residents gathered around the stoves. Every hand, every smile, every gesture was a declaration of love and compassion.

Carefully wrapped to bring a little sweetness to the residents of La Maison Aube-Lumière and the volunteers who support them every day.

On that day, over 200 people received these little chocolate treats,
like little rays of sunshine that warm the heart as much as the palate.

A common mission

This project is much more than chocolate. It’s about giving time and love, without expecting anything in return, to La Maison Aube-Lumière. It’s also about saying a huge thank you to all those who work tirelessly on this mission of humanity and serenity.

For there is an invisible but resolutely tangible thread that links the mission of La Maison Aube-Lumière and that of Résidences Soleil, carried by shared values: to offer a quality living environment where well-being, comfort and respect are combined in the present tense to embellish the lives of their residents.

An experience that makes sense

A wonderful experience for Les Résidences Soleil Manoir du Musée and their director, Mr. Carrier, with La Maison Aube Lumières, part of a long line of helping hands for this Sherbrooke organization. Here, as elsewhere, other projects will be born, to continue to sow sparkles of light wherever the need is felt.

Les Résidences Soleil has always been deeply involved with a number of organizations in Quebec, and the Famille Savoie has never hesitated to lend a helping hand. It’s a love story with the community: in addition to creating warm, luminous living environments for seniors, it contributes, year after year, to making everyone’s life a little sweeter.

Whether sweetened, knitted, told or handcrafted, each of our involvement, each of our gestures of commitment, finds an echo in order to offer what we know best : rays of sunshine!

Where angels watch over us

La Maison Aube-lumière : Love life up to the last moment

La Maison Aube-Lumière is a non-profit organization, active in the Eastern Townships since 1997. Located on the CHUS-Fleurimont campus, surrounded by trees and flowers, it provides its cancer patients with a most peaceful and warm end-of-life environment.

A real jewel in its community, La Maison Aube-Lumière has been firmly rooted in the hearts of its citizens since 1997, supported by dedicated hands, precious donations and unfailing generosity to offer quality care completely free of charge. Its doors never close: they remain wide open, day and night, summer and winter, to welcome those who no longer have the strength to go on alone, and their loved ones, with infinite gentleness.
