Remembrance Day
The other common name for this day is Armistice Day which marks the date and time when armies stopped fighting World War I. on November 11th at 11am in 1918. It’s the occasion for Canadians to remember those who lost their lives fighting for our country and those who fought during the war.
Royal Legion
Mr. Eddy Savoie, proud collaborator and great friend of the members of the Royal Canadian Legion, finds very important to support and get involved with our veterans. That's why, since over 20 years, Groupe Savoie – Les Residences Soleil have been supporting these courageous veterans by offering their help. Weather it’s offering them a place of regroupment or celebration or by offering a recurrent financial support. "We believe it is important to support the Royal Canadian Legion and their members, in honor of their sacrifice and the many services given to the nation. These men and women who risked their lives for our country are all heroes in our eyes and we must make sure to never forget them! – Eddy Savoie
Poppy
Every year, from the last Friday of October to Remembrance Day, Canadians are invited to wear a poppy as a sign of recognition and support for those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. We wear it to the left, near the heart. We must leave it intact and not change it in any way. The poppies are distributed in several places the days before November 11th. In exchange for the poppy, the Legion accepts whatever amount you’d like to give. Thanks to the generosity of the participants in the poppy campaign, the Legion is able to help veterans and their families on a daily basis.
On this Remembrance Day, Les Residences Soleil have a singular thought for all those who fought in honor of our country. To those who have sacrificed their lives and those who have returned to the war, we thank you for your courage and determination, thanks to you, we are at peace.
Veteran
Help our Boucherville veteran, Mister Leblanc find his poppy! Mr. Leblanc was appointed to the rank of Chevalier in the National Order of the Legion of Honor. This distinction is the highest grade given by the French Republic. This award is to mark his personal commitment to the campaign for the liberation of France during the Second World War.
