Sovereign’s Medal for Volunteers
A distinction awarded to a resident of Residences Soleil Manoir Sorel
Congratulations to Mrs. Gisèle Thibault for her great involvement on behalf of her entire family of Les Residences Soleil.
It is surrounded by her family that Mrs. Gisèle Thibault received the Sovereign’s Medal for Volunteers, on October 13 at the Hotel de la Rive in Sorel-Tracy. A former resident of the municipality of Yamaska for more than 30 years, Ms. Thibault now resides at Les Residences Soleil Manoir Sorel for almost a year. It is with great emotion that her long-time friend and mayor of the city of Yamaska, Diane De Tonnancourt, presented the medal on behalf of the Governor General of Canada.
This kind-hearted woman has devoted a great deal of her life to volunteering by volunteering time with various organizations in the Yamaska municipality. Moving from the Red Cross to the Catholic Union of Rural Women, Ms. Thibault has brought great benefit to those in need while creating organizations that help women, youth and especially seniors. His great involvement has led him to sit on the board of directors of several organizations in the municipality of his region.
Thanks to her dedication and commitment to her community for more than 60 years, Ms. Thibault received this honor recognizing the outstanding volunteer achievements of Canadians in a wide range of fields.
