The QSHG Honours Six Employees in the Retirement Home Sector
QUEBEC CITY, Nov. 07, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) – The commitment and dedication of six employees working in seniors’ residences was highlighted on November 6, 2019, at the opening ceremony of the Annual Conference of the Quebec Seniors’ Housing Group (QSHG). A touching video tribute was presented for the first time to the 400 guests gathered at the Fairmont Le Château Frontenac.
This was the third year that QSHG handed out Recognition Awards to Employee Ambassadors. “These award highlight the leadership, dedication and creativity of employees who make a difference every day by improving services to residents and encouraging their colleagues to do the same,” explained Yves Desjardins, President and CEO of the QSHG.
An Employee of Les Résidences Soleil St-Laurent Manor Honoured
Recreation Leader at Les Résidences Soleil St-Laurent Manor, Marie-Ève Lavigne was the recipient of the Social and Community Engagement Award. A graduate of the visual arts, design and project management program, she has worked at the residence for 13 years and continues to impress with her creative projects and partnerships. Marie-Ève stands out for her exceptional resourcefulness and her involvement, not only in all of the residence’s projects but also within her community. She develops activities that are both physically and cognitively stimulating for the residents. Over the years, she has built lasting relationships with various community organizations, which has allowed her to develop intergenerational activities that include storytime with little ones, snack-time chats with Maison des jeunes, family gardening events and fun evening activities with the Scouts. Attentive, accessible and passionate, Marie-Ève always has wonderful idea on decorating the exterior of the residence, much to the delight of our seniors.
