World Elder Abuse Awarness Day
Let's proudly wear the purple ribbon
On the occasion of World Elder Abuse Awarness Day, Les Résidences Soleil invites you to wear the purple ribbon, the official symbol of the cause.
With the well-being and safety of the seniors in mind, we believe in the importance of highlighting this event. Residents, employees and visitors are invited to proudly wear this purple ribbon offered, free of charge, at the reception of each Résidences Soleil, to remind them of the importance of acting collectively to prevent and counter all types of abuse against seniors. It should be remembered that, to date, abuse affects 4 to 7% of the elderly. Les Résidences Soleil have been doing everything they can, for more than 30 years, to raise awareness and inform its residents and employees by providing them with tools to counter any abuse that, in our opinion, is unacceptable. It is for these reasons that we proudly wear the purple ribbon on this annual World Day! Together, we are stronger than abuse! To get your ribbon, go to the reception of one of Les Résidences Soleil.

The government action plan
Since May 30, 2017, the government's action plan to counter elder abuse and all other vulnerable adults is in effect. In addition to facilitating the reporting of abuse cases, this action plan aims to:
- Make known and recognized the phenomenon of abuse by the elderly themselves, by their relatives, by the caregivers and by the general population;
- Strengthen the coherence and the complementarity of the actions carried out by the partners coming from different backgrounds
- Improve knowledge about the phenomenon of abuse

Together, counter the abuse by acting collectively to prevent all forms of abuse against our elders.
